Let's discuss all the methods one by one in detail:
Method 1. Via Apple Mail
I heard from quite a lot of Apple users getting difficulty to find a method to convert MBOX to PST (Outlook data file). So here is the solution:- Launch Apple mail
- Visit File Tab >> Import Mailboxes
- Select the MBOX file where you want to export the data, >> Choose MBOX format
- Press Continue.
- Next, browse the MBOX file location
- Click on Choose >> Continue
- Hit ‘Done’.
- Download & Run Eudora
- Convert the inbox file extension from “pqr” to “pqr.mbx”.
- Now place this file pqr.mbx to the storage directory of Eudora. (Here’s the path : C: Documents and Settings > User > Application Data\Qualcomm\Eudora)
- In Eudora, open pqr.mbx
- Next, open the mailbox using Outlook Express
- Lastly, export the mailbox from Outlook Express to MS Outlook.
Method 2. The Inbuilt Gmail Loader utility
Gmail Loader is an inbuilt utility that provides the facility to import mail from Thunderbird to Gmail account. The process goes like this:- First import MBOX file into Thunderbird & Export Thunderbird to Gmail
- Then configure your Outlook account with the same Gmail account.
- Open Thunderbird & compact all folders
- Download Gmail loader for free
- Open the file gmlw.exe to run Gmail loader
- Go to Configure your Email File >> Find option
- Browse the MBOX files that you want to convert. Find these files under Thunderbird email storage.
- Hit on Open
- Select the MBOX file (Netscape, Thunderbird, Mozilla) from the File Type in Gmail loader
- Choose an option Mail I Sent or Mail I Received as required.
- Go to Enter Your Gmail Address & insert the complete Gmail address
- Finally, select Send to Gmail option.
Gmail Loader is outdated and discontinued. Instead of opting for Gmail Loader, you can get the same results by using Method 3.
Method 3. Convert MBOX to PST For Outlook
- Create a new email account in your web browser.
- Open MBOX email client and configure this email account using IMAP.
- Once configured, import the MBOX file in this email client.
- Now, select the emails you want to convert to PST.
- Drag and drop these selected emails in the new email account. You can also choose to Copy these items instead of moving them completely.
- Once the items are accessible in the new email account, close the email client and open web browser.
- Verify that all the emails are present in the email account by accssing the account on your web browser.
- Now, open MS Outlook and configure the same email account in it.
- All the emails will start appearing.
- You can choose to convert these MBOX emails to PST or simple use them in Outlook without any worries.
Why Not to Choose Manual Methods?
