Are you looking for a way through which you could import the data of PST file in Office 365? Moreover, the issue is not just confine up-to it only. Eventually, you have discovered duplicate items in your Outlook PST file and now the things have turned into be more worsen.

In this tutorial, we will teach you how to detect duplicated items available in the Outlook Data File while importing into Office 365 and other alternative solution, which holds features to tackle such thing.

First of all, remove duplicates from your Outlook PST file with Outlook Duplicate Remover. This tool just does not detect the duplicates available in the PST file, but also remove replicated items across different Outlook Data Files. Once you dedupe the duplicated entries from Outlook, you can jump on to next step.

Enable Mailbox Import and Export Admin Role for a user:

1.) Go to Office 365 admin panel and afterwards choose “Exchange”.

2.) Now, you are in “Exchange Admin Center”. Move to “Permissions”and afterward choose “Compliance Management”.

3.) Hit on Plus sign in order to add a new “Role Group”. Also, assign a name and description to the role group.
4.) Now, you need to add that “Role”using plus button and present above the “Roles” list.
5.) Go to “Select a Role” dialog box, select “Mailbox Import Export”, choose “Add” next and finally hit on “Ok”.
6.) At the end, select a user by hitting on “Plus” button given just above the “Members” list, whom you want to assign this role. You can find these options only in the “New Role Group”.

See, a user can import the Outlook Data File by two ways:

a.) By Shipping Drives–Provide ease, if you want to move numerous PST files.
b.) By Network Upload – It is prefer to move small amount of PST file.

However, defining both of them can be comprehensive and time consuming, and with the same concern, I am only going to define the first way (Shipping Drive) method to import an Outlook PST file.

Shipping Drive approach to move PST’s data into Office 365

This method is divided into five different sub-procedures which are:
1.) Download  Microsoft Azure Import/Export Tool from official sources of Microsoft
2.)
My unique Tenant Keys:
  • Choose Import tab given in the Office 365 admin.
  • Select “Ship Data on Physical Hard Drives” under the Plus button.

  • Ship Data on Physical Hard Drives wizard provides you an account key, so keep it by clicking on “Copy” button.
3.) Prepare Your Drivers: MS Azure Tool garners a drive journal file for every drive which it preps for further functioning. This drive journal file located in the your local drive &comprises of information such as Drive ID, BitLocker Key and some other information about the drive.

Noteworthy Point: Command line syntax, which Microsoft Azure Import/Export Tool uses to make up hard drives for the importation job.

4.)
Build a PST file for mapping: This is something which needs of perseverance because mapping a wrong PST file to the wrong user mailbox can mess up things. This is done by creating a CSV file (which you can also download from the official source of Microsoft) where essential column for mapping are already given. You just need to put the right details in the right field.

5.) Generate an import job in admin panel of Office365: Given below are the steps that you need to look through in order to create an import job in Office365 via Admin Panel:
  • To create a new shipping job, go to Import page and hit on available on the screen.
  • Ship Data On physical hard drives wizard will open a page next with name “New Job” and at here, check the following options:

a.) I have prepared my hard-drives, and have access to the necessary dive journal files.

b.) I have access to the Mapping files.
  • Now, Input the job‘s name which comes under the page: “Please enter a name for this project to manage it later”.
  • Browse the drive journal file and upload them on the page: “Upload Drive Files”. Keep in mind, each journal file should be uploaded each drive.
  • It’s time to upload your mapped CSV file, go to “Upload Mapping Files” and browse it.
  • Fill the personals pertained to the import job like contact name, phone number, email address and return address. These all will be covered within “Contact Details” page.
  • Validate the things on the summary page and hit on finish to end up the task.
6.) Start shipping drives

7.) Fill shipping details: Are you done with shipping? If yes, then come back to “Ingestion”page of the Office365’s  admin panel. Choose a job and get the “Enter Tracking Number”.  Through this, you can track the on-going process, history of job, delivery status.
